Advantages of a Custom Built PC
For first time buyers of personal computers out there, there is but one problem with the purchasing; information. Although it is possible to do prior research before the purchase, with the dizzying amount of information available, it is nigh impossible to sort out the useful ones from the bad ones. And the sheer effort of research is sometimes daunting. But there is a way to determine what you need at the moment; it boils down to use.

How you use your PC and what you intend to accomplish with it best determines the kind of PC you should get. There are some advantages that you can enjoy when you buy a custom built PC over a PC that has already been prefabricated. When you say custom built, it means that the PC was made to cater to your exact computing needs. Below are some scenarios to better illustrate this:
If you are a business man, then you would probably want a personal computer that handles documents and communications efficiently, and you want this personal computer to run efficiently- minus all the unnecessary hardware that you won’t be using anyway. You would also want your personal computer to have efficient communications equipment, and little or no equipment for multimedia.
If you have this in mind, you would probably invest in a mid to high grade motherboard, a high-end solid state hard drive and top of the line wireless Internet receivers/modems. Your probably would not need a high-end video card.
If you are a student who is after a PC that can handle internet surfing, gaming, as well as school work, then your PC should be quite different from the specs that the businessman has noted. In the same way, however, you need a PC with a large hard drive, cable or wireless internet modems, and at least a 1.5 GHz processor. In terms of gaming needs, you should also find a PC that has a multimedia card that is reliable.
Putting several computers in an office entails a careful consideration of budget and functionality. The specifications of the PC will also change in this regard, but you have to note that a PC does not have to be equipped with a lot of hardware to be productive for your office.
An office PC must have ample disk space, and powerful enough to allow different types of tasks to be done. You will not need high-end video cards or sound-cards, but a PC that can access the internet with a good processor.
For gamers, the picture changes significantly. Because not only does a gamer’s personal computer be updated regularly, but it must have been clocked to a significant figure in order to deliver the kind of results that would actually say that it is a gaming personal computer for a specific function.
