Netbooks: Revolutionizing the Computer Industry

netbook,netbooks,laptop,notebook,laptop computers,mini notebooksRelatively new computer devices emerging in late 2007, early 2008, netbooks are storming markets with attractive pricing, competing with their laptop and notebook forefathers. Used mainly to surf the web and perform small computer functions, consumers now have the option to have a dulled down laptop that will meet their computing needs at a fraction of the cost.

The netbook philosophy is to utilize the Internet applications such as presentations, spreadsheets, word processing, and even storage, as hard drives have just recently increased up to 250 GB from 160 GB. As these are actually larger hard drives for netbooks, some are even justified to come with solid-state drives that are fast and small, but usually do not exceed 32 GB. Netbooks are not powerhouse machines, but are portals to internet-based applications and products.

As storage space remains predominantly low on netbooks, so does memory and processing speeds. Processors are, on average, at about 1.6 GHz. Additionally, a traditional netbook provides about 1 GB of memory, while 512 MB is not uncommon. After all, these machines are not designed to run much more than an Internet browser, which ultimately keeps cost down.

A Quick Look At Some of New Tech Gadgets

gadgetThere are so many really cool tech gadgets being introduced in 2010 that the only problem for most techies will be deciding what to get first. Depending on what a person is most interested in, there is a upgrade or new gadget being made available to keep a gadget person completely happy for a long while.

Speakers are really being kicked up a notch. A lot of high end speakers has been popping out in the market lately. Stick-on speakers are coming out in 2010. These speakers are set in the middle of a stick-on pad that will adhere to any surface. A person could create surround sound at different levels with enough of these speakers. Or, you can stick speakers on an outdoor wall to get music and sound in a garden or yard.

A free floating speaker system is coming out for pools. But, of course, there are tons of other uses for this gadget. It’s completely water proof and has a receiver that gets clear reception from up to 150 feet. It’s shaped like a ball, which opens the possibility of several other entertaining uses. A person can use this speaker in a basement, garage, or other area of the home where they work but get lousy reception. You can hook up an MP3 or G3 easily to the transmitter and listen to your favorite music while working.
